The Theme for the 2025 Challenge was "What Goes Around, Comes Around"
and it is time for another go around.

Information and Theme for the 2027 Quilt Challenge will be available at the October 2026 Meeting
And on the Website Late October.

The 2027 Challenge Quilts will be exhibited at the May 2027 Meeting

Challenge Contest Rules from 2025:

New information and rules for 2027 will be available at the October 2026 meeting.


  1. Your Quilt should depict the New Theme
  2. Entrants must be current members of the FGQG and have purchased a $10 challenge packet.
  3. Size Requirements:
    width or length = Min. 30 inches to Max 45 inches
  4. The quilt top must be completely constructed by the person named on the entry form.
  5. All entries must be quilted; by hand or by machine, or both. Machine quilting is allowed by others. All names of the individuals who worked on the quilt must appear on the entry form.
  6. Quilts must be a single unit and not framed by wood, metal, etc. And have the ability to be folded or rolled for shipping, if necessary.
  7. A recognizable amount of the Four Challenge fabrics, must be used on the quilt top and may not appear on the binding only.
  8. A recognizable amount of the organza must be included in the quilt.
  9. The quilt must have one or more Flying Geese Units (in piecing or applique, an outline in thread does not qualify) and at least one or more Dunkard Path block (pattern provided - in piecing or applique, an outline in thread does not qualify) visible on the surface of the Quilt top.
  10. A 4" rod pocket/hanging sleeve must be sewn across the full width of the quilt at the top edge of the quilt back.
  11. Extra fabric may be used in your quilt.
  12. A label with the maker's name must be attached to the lower back left edge of the quilt.

  • Traditional Appliqued
  • Innovative: Inspiration from an outside source
  • Pictorial
  • Original: No use of another source (personal photo is okay)
  • Contemporary: Distinctively modern and current in style

  • Most Humorous
  • Most creative use of fabric
  • Best Visual Effect
  • Judge's Choice
  • Viewer's Choice

  • Ruby Red - Hoffman Cherry Gold V5189
  • Plus Silver & White Metallic Crepe Fabric from Joann's #14261671
