Linda Sullivan
Lecture : “My Best Tips and Tricks for Precision Piecing.”

In January, we ring in the new year by welcoming Linda Sullivan with her lecture, “My Best Tips and Tricks for Precision Piecing.”

Want to perfect that elusive 1/4" seam allowance? Many piecing challenges stem from small inaccuracies in cutting, stitching, or pressing—and those little issues can quickly compound as a block comes together.

Linda S. believes quilting should be fun first and foremost, and that even the most “persnickety seams” and “potential piecing hazards” can be conquered with the right approach. Always on the lookout for practical solutions to everyday quilting frustrations, she shares her best tips for fabric preparation, machine setup for stitching success, perfect pressing, and her go-to thread and needle choices. Most importantly, Linda will demonstrate the tools and techniques that help quilters fine-tune and achieve their most accurate scant 1/4" seam allowance.

Minki Kim
Lecture - How Sewing Saved My Life

We’re delighted to welcome the talented Minki Kim to our guild! Known for her whimsical designs and charming sewing illustrations, Minki has inspired quilters and makers around the world with her creative approach to fabric art.

Minki Kim is a fabric and pattern designer celebrated for her distinctive, storybook style. A formally trained sculptor and self-taught sewist, she discovered that designing fabrics and creating art with fabric and thread were natural steps in her artistic journey. During her program, “How Sewing Changed My Life,” Minki will share photos and projects that trace her creative evolution.

Minki began sewing as a creative outlet when her children were small, hoping to capture the beauty of everyday moments. What started as simple hand embroidery grew into her signature technique of “drawing with thread” on her sewing machine—transforming ordinary scenes into delightful keepsakes.

The author of Sew Illustrated, Diary in Stitches, Zakka from the Heart, and Zakka Wool Appliqué (all from C&T Publishing), Minki has also designed several fabric collections for Riley Blake Designs. She creates popular patterns for purses and pouches, beloved by sewists for their clever construction and charming details.

Edyta Sitar
Lecture and Quilt Trunkshow

We’re in for a treat to begin the New Year, Edyta Sitar is returning to the Flying Geese Quilters Guild after nearly a decade. She will be bringing with her a fresh collection of quilts and creative inspiration. Her influence in the quilting world has only grown, and we’re thrilled to host her once again.

Edyta’s love of fabric began early — starting with her mother’s drapes. Edyta's passion for fabric was quickly recognized and encouraged. That early spark grew into Laundry Basket Quilts, where she continues to blend her eye for color, storytelling, and technique into beautifully crafted patterns and projects. Over the years she has designed traditional and batik fabrics for MODA and now creates collections for Andover. Her quilts have been featured internationally, her books and patterns are well loved, and her work appears in magazines and exhibits around the world.

Edyta’s warm teaching style and creative spirit shine in every class and presentation. Whether you're familiar with her designs or meeting her for the first time, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a quilter whose passion continues to inspire makers everywhere.
